Flight Stats over weekdays and months
What does the visualization show?
The chart show how the flight volume varies over seven days of a week and twelve months of a year. Data has been presented as is without any truncation.
X axis represent 12 months of a month and 7 days of a week as per selection and Y axis represent flight volume; note that it scales automatically on user input. One unique hue has been used across the bars.
Charts shows the cumulative aggregate by default but we also have the option to filter down to individual airliner.
A lookup table has also been included for reference on the right to obtain IATA Code of an Airliner for data filtering
What are the user interactions available?
1. Viewer can toggle between weekly and monthly data
2. Viewer can filter the data to note details for a single airliner
3. Tooltips reveal flight volume when we hover over a bar
4. You can navigate to other charts by clicking on homepage
5. A reset button has been included to retore defaults
What inference/s can be drawn?
1. Most of the Airliners operate lesser flights on Friday
2. Most of the Airliners operate lesser flights on the months of Sep, Oct & Nov
3. Southwest Airlines(WN) clearly seems to have beaten the rest when it comes to operating more flights
